The Worthington Inn: A Great Place to Gather for Any Occasion

“Before”

Big changes are coming to The Worthington Inn. In addition to being your favorite restaurant for celebrating life’s special occasions, the inn will soon emerge as your go-to place for a quick dinner with the kids, a casual meal with friends or a late-night bite. A multi-phase renovation project is underway that includes opening up one of the inn’s private rooms, expanding The Pub and creating The Worthington Room.

“We understand that in today’s busy society, folks don’t always have time for a five-course, fine-dining meal,” said AnnaBell Kinsel, private event sales coordinator. “In addition to our formal dining, we’ll now be able to offer the same quality of food that people have come to expect at The Worthington Inn, but in a more relaxed, family friendly environment.”

As with most construction projects, the renovations will not happen overnight (actually though – one part really did happen overnight – more on that later). The project, which started at the beginning of the summer, will be unveiled over the course of several months. Here’s a sneak peek at the master plan:

Phase 1 – Complete

“After”

If you’ve visited the inn lately, you probably noticed the new, fresh feel of the main dining room. In addition to refinishing the stairs and painting the walls, they opened up one of the historic rooms for general seating. The space, which was previously only available for private events, boasts a fireplace and a fantastic view of High Street.

Phase 2 – In Process…

If you’re looking for a great place to grab a burger after the kids’ game, The Worthington Room is it. Last week the restaurant closed down for three days while crews worked around the clock to install new floors in the space. The room, which was the inn’s original tavern in the 1860s, is an extension of the already popular pub, and will add plenty of much-needed, additional seating. New wood floors from New England blend with the age and style of the building. And both rooms also received a fresh coat of paint and will soon be decorated with historic photographs of Old Worthington.

Deep- Fried Goodness

Let’s be honest, nothing beats a plate of French fries after hours. Beginning in October, The Worthington Inn is excited to roll out a special late-night menu in The Pub and The Worthington Room. The menu will be available on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. to midnight and will feature all the delicious treats you crave after a night on the town.

Phase 3 – Coming Soon…

Once the busyness of the upcoming holiday season comes to a close, work will begin on The Worthington Room’s final phase of renovation. The inn’s owners are planning to revamp the seating options by adding a mix of high tops, banquettes and lounge areas.

“A lot of work went into planning this renovation, and we’re thrilled to see our efforts come to fruition,” Kinsel said. “We’re excited to provide a much-needed dining option for the community and look forward to introducing many more people to The Worthington Inn.”

The Worthington Inn is located at 649 High Street in the heart of Old Worthington. For more information, including the menu and a list of special events, check out their website, like them on Facebook or follow them on Instagram.
