Kasa Yoga and Wellness Celebrates Grand Opening

In case you haven’t noticed, Old Worthington is brimming with new businesses. We recently introduced you to Vernacular, Madison House Designs and COhatch, and now we’re thrilled to tell you about yet another new merchant on High Street – Kasa Yoga and Wellness.

On July 8, Kasa Yoga and Wellness opened its doors at 693 ½ N. High Street, in the same building as Highline Coffee and Pure Cottage. For founder and owner Kathy Yannucci, the opening fulfilled a nearly 10-year-long dream of bringing yoga to Old Worthington. Her search for space began shortly after moving to Worthington in 2005. When nothing initially materialized, Yannucci opened a studio in her home and started to build a client base. After looking at various locations throughout the years, she finally landed the perfect spot – complete with a view of the Village Green. Yannucci

“I could not be more excited about our new space,” Yannucci said. “The City of Worthington and the practice of yoga are both deeply rooted in history and tradition, and opening a studio here has been a dream come true.”

Kasa Yoga and Wellness is a full-service, boutique yoga studio offering yoga, Reiki, Ayurveda, meditation, workshops and essential oils. If you’re not a full-fledged yogi, no worries – there’s something for everyone, even beginners. Let’s take a closer look:

  • Yoga – Kasa offers four different types of yoga classes: Gentle/beginner, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yang and Yin Yoga and Meditation. While each style of yoga varies in terms of intensity and overall purpose, all of Yannucci’s classes focus on whole body wellness. Through breathing exercises, poses, essential oils and holistic practices, clients learn techniques to tone and strengthen their bodies while calming their minds. Classes are currently offered Tuesday through Saturday in the morning and evening. Kasa 2
  • Reiki (pronounced raykee) – Reiki is a Japanese hands-on healing practice where energy is transferred from the instructor to the client. The purpose of Reiki is to promote stress reduction and help facilitate a person’s ability to find peace and balance in the mind, body and spirit.
  • Ayurveda – Also known as the science of life, the practice of Ayurveda is designed to help people achieve ultimate health and wellness. Yannucci is in the process of completing her Ayurveda certification and will soon offer lifestyle workshops.

Since opening a little more than a month ago, Yannucci has been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement she’s received from the community and from her neighboring merchants. “Folks come in every day to say how thankful they are that we’re here and that they’ve always wanted a yoga studio in Worthington.”
