A Taste of Vietnam in Worthington

Taste of Vietnam 2Searching for authentic Vietnamese food in Worthington? Look no further than A Taste of Vietnam. The new restaurant, which opened on August 2 in the former location of Rivage Atlantique, serves up traditional Vietnamese cuisine in a spacious, inviting atmosphere.

A Family Affair

A Taste of Vietnam is owned and operated by Amy Nguyen, a recent graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University. We caught up with Nguyen to learn more about her new venture and what it’s been like during the restaurant’s first few weeks in Worthington. While Nguyen handles the business side of the restaurant, her aunt and uncle run the back of the house. The couple also owns a restaurant in Vietnam and had been looking to open one in the Columbus area when Nguyen suggested that they collaborate

Although Nguyen possesses no culinary experience, her business degree, paired with her aunt and uncle’s authentic recipes, make the perfect match. After looking for space all over Columbus, she was thrilled to find the vacant restaurant. “Finding this space was truly love at first sight,” Nguyen said. “We could not have asked for a better location than in the heart of Worthington.” Taste of Vietnam 1

Pho Real

From their signature Pho (pronounced foh) dishes to their hard-to-find Vietnamese shrimp-and-rice crepes, A Taste of Vietnam creates all-natural, unique recipes without the use of mixes, powders or MSG. The restaurant prides itself on its high-quality meat offerings, which are never tenderized and are delivered fresh every other day. In addition to traditional beef and chicken dishes, which are made using always-fresh, in-bone broth, A Taste of Vietnam offers several vegetarian dishes as well.

“We’re aware of the fact that Worthington is a health-conscious community,” Nguyen said. “We’re proud of our cuisine and strive to offer our customers dishes that are authentic, flavorful and healthy.”

The Back Room Bar is Back Taste of Vietnam 3

If you were a fan of the Back Room Bar at Rivage, you’ll be glad to know that it’s been resurrected. Nguyen plans to keep the bar, which is located near the rear of the restaurant, exactly as it was before. While you might not associate Vietnamese food with sports bars, she is excited to offer patrons the full Taste of Vietnam menu (hint – it includes Vietnamese chicken wings), fantastic drink specials and the same game day atmosphere you loved before.

A Taste of Vietnam is located at 652 High St. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. Stop in today and enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner, or call (614) 848-0378 for take-out.
